DevOps Engineer
Description
As a DevOps Engineer you will help to design and implement infrastructure within an Infrastructure as Code environment using modern technologies and tools such as Cloud Formation, Terraform and Kubernetes amongst others. You'll contribute to overall system design and take ownership of particular features; collaborating with the rest of the business to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities
- Writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in an AWS cloud-based environment (Cloud Formation/Terraform) via an infrastructure CI/CD pipeline.
- Work across one or more application development teams as the Amazon Web Services (AWS) DevOps engineer.
- Lead innovation and R&D activities to propose new solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
- Build and manage cloud environments to enable application deployments
- Consume and deploy centrally provided common cloud services for business unit / application DevOps teams (e.g. domain services, networking, logging.)
- Highly skilled withCI/CD pipelines. Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities
- Support non-functional testing of cloud services•Security and Compliance, e.g. IAM and cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools
- Operational effectiveness -delivers solutions that align to approved design patterns and security standards
- Provide impact assessments where requested for changes proposed onCloud services
- Working closely with membersof the team to ensure that they produce the software on time, high qualityand to budget.
- Keeping current with new technologies and making recommendations to the team while maintaining and enhancing existing product codebase.
- Working with members of the QA, DevOps and delivery teams to ensure products are tested, installed and maintained to a high standard.
- Keep a critical eye on new functional specifications and raise quality, performance and architectural concerns.
- Responsible for building Infrastructure and operational documentation
Qualifications
Key Requirements
- At least5+ years’ commercial experience as DevOps Engineer capacity. 2+ years as AWS DevOps Engineer.
- Demonstrable Amazon Web Services experience -infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of AWS services including ECS, Lambda, S3, databases (e.g. RDS, DynamoDB), Dockers, Redshift, Elastic Searchand VPC configurations
- Experienced in full automation and configuration management.
- Experience of using at least one of following automation tools: Circle CI, Jenkins, Code Pipeline or Git Actions.
- Experience of using at least one of following configuration management tools: Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Team City etc.
- DevOps engineer who can think outside the box and roll their sleeves up -hands on and willing to learn and try, test and roll out new solutions in cloud.
- Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and scripting preferably Red Hat
- Experience of working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and continuous testing tools
- Experience working within an Agile environment. Ability to quickly acquire new skills and tools
- Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, Scala
- Automation scripting (using scripting languages such as Cloud Formation, Terraform, Ansible etc.)
- Operational expertise working in at least one of Identity and Access Management, Network Security, Data Security, Digital Security, PKI.
- Set and achieved challenging short, medium-and long-term goals which exceeded the standards in their field.
- Demonstrable knowledge of at least one of software development methodology(Agile Kanban/Scrum, Agile SAFe) and structured approaches to development. Capable of working to strict deadlines.
Education/Qualifications
- 1st class honors degree in Computers or similar*
- AWS Certification(AWS Solution Architect, AWS SysOps, AWS Developer or similar)*
- Any formal Programming qualifications.
